New Participatory Guarantee System Organic Council (PGSOC) Administrative office set up in Bangalore.
2019 MAY
Applied to Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for notification of Participatory Guarantee System Organic Council (PGSOC) as a community managed alternation system of PGS certification.
2018 OCTOBER
NIRMAN and SVDS added as new members of Participatory Guarantee System Organic Council (PGSOC).
2017
CIRHEP added as new members of Participatory Guarantee System Organic Council (PGSOC).
2016
Kudumbam added as new members of Participatory Guarantee System Organic Council (PGSOC).
2015
FTAK, TEDE trust and LEDEG added as new members of Participatory Guarantee System Organic Council (PGSOC).
2014
ICRA added as new members of Participatory Guarantee System Organic Council (PGSOC).
2013
Formally registered as a society in Goa as Participatory Guarantee System Organic Council with OFAI, Timbaktu Collective, Keystone Foundation, IIRD, Deccan Development Society, Pan Himalayan Grassroots, Green Foundation, Chetna Vikas, CCD, MOFF as founder members.
2011 APRIL
National Council of Organic Farming (NCOF) held consultation workshop with PGSOC for implementing PGS India.
2010 SEPTEMBER
Workshop conducted at Piliyandala, Sri Lanka for initiating PGS in Sri Lanka by PGSOC, IFOAM and LOAM.
2009 DECEMBER
PGS Organic logo as a mark of quality of product was launched in Pastapur, Telangana.
2008 MARCH
Need for an alternative organic certification system, friendly for small farmers was reaffirmed with officials from India's Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce.
2007 OCTOBER
National consultation workshop involving the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, farmers, NGOs and state government officials was conducted to pilot PGS in India.
